Evernote is an online application where you are able to make online notes using a computer, phone or the web. It was designed to act as an online post-it note where your notes can be accessible anywhere you go over the internet. It can also clip web pages just like a bookmark function and store screenshots or photos. Everything that a user uploads into their Evernote account, is stored and indexed to allow for easy searching via keywords, titles and tags. Evernote can also find handwritten text inside images. The user is also able to sort their notes out into separate notebooks. Another convenient feature is that you are able to email your notes to a specified email address given by Evernote to which they will sort your notes and save it under a default folder.

To use Evernote one must create their own account for free with a 40MB upload allowance per month but by upgrading to premium with the payment of $5 you are able to get a 500MB monthly upload limit. This site makes a great tool for taking notes such as note taking at a university lecture via a laptop or netbook and is easily accessible. Evernote works similar to Window's Skydrive although is much more private whereas on SkyDrive you are able to share files via a public or shared folder with specific groups.

Jump lists are used to show the recently used files under a specific pinned program to the task bar. This is useful for retrieving work that is commonly worked on or was last used.

This was always available in previous operating systems by tiling two windows that were open but is now easier to use with a simple funtion in Windows 7.

XP mode can be used in business situations which make the two operating systems compatible with each other. It creates a virtual XP environment where it is able to run older programs made for XP but looks and funtions as a Windows 7 system. This is useful as businesses don't need to change their programs to suit the new operating system and are able to upgrade without the hassle of compatibility with existing programs.

Windows 7 will no longer AutoRun external hard drives and USB's when they're connected and in the process doesn't allow for risky malware infections, making the operating system much safer in terms of security.
